Entrepreneurial Mindset Tool

$33,000

Oct 10, 2022

St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls

Through Catalyst Create funding, St Hilda’s were able to fund the development of a dedicated data collection website, integral to their Entrepreneurial Mindset (EM) tool, designed to benefit schools across Western Australia.

Following a pilot test for their Entrepreneurial Mindset (EM) scale, which ran from November 2022 to March 2023, St Hilda’s analyzed preliminary results, undertook the development and refinement of the EM website, and created the EM electronic profile, allowing students to access their individual profiles.

St Hilda’s Entrepreneurial Mindset tool has brought together Schools across Western Australia to share their successes and challenges in delivering and embedding entrepreneurship education in the School curriculum.

This tool now has the potential to influence best practices in entrepreneurship curriculum development within schools before expanding to other educational institutions across Western Australia. The creation of a diagnostic tool prioritising the measurement of entrepreneurial mindsets and skillsets is intended to be shared and scaled across other schools in WA once the testing phase is successfully validated.

Impact

St Hilda’s primary objective was to develop a validated diagnostic tool for assessing entrepreneurial mindset and skillset. This priority area was intended to serve as a foundation for sharing and scaling these insights across other schools in Western Australia from March 2023 onward, once the testing phase had been successfully validated.

Addressing a gap in existing tools, which typically target university students and older entrepreneurs, St Hilda’s, with the support of Catalyst Create funding, successfully created, piloted, tested, and validated a unique quantitative scale tailored specifically for school students.
